Middle Lypiatt is a beautiful rural hamlet three miles from Stroud on the South-facing side of the Toadsmoor Valley.  The surrounding area boasts several historic homes. Dick Whittington, the celebrated Lord Mayor of London bought nearby Lypiatt Park in 1395. The Queen's first cousin Prince Michael of Kent lived at the other end of the Lypiatt Ridge in Nether Lypiatt Manor until 2005. Today our neighbours include the home of the world-famous Giffords Circus.

Your hosts Matt and Susie Thomson have offered accommodation at the cottage since 2017.  They opened the first safari tent in 2020, with the second following in 2022.  Three generations of Thomsons built the wooden platforms on which the tents sit. The tents were made in Stroud, and all furnishings were sourced locally.

We hope you will enjoy your stay in this very special place.

The rest of the gang

Matt and Susie moved to Middle Lypiatt with their three children in 2014, falling in love with the tranquility and space. When you first arrive, you'll likely be greeted by a neigh from one of our ponies and will probably spot a small dog.
